Storm Partners Unveils Web3 Innovation Sandbox in Geneva

Date:

Storm Partners, a leading Swiss blockchain solutions provider, has introduced Lightningbox, a new Web3 innovation sandbox. This initiative aims to promote mass blockchain adoption and drive Web3 advancements in Geneva. The sandbox is designed to help large organizations leverage blockchain technology and foster industry innovation.

Empowering Blockchain Innovation

Lightningbox offers a secure environment for blockchain experimentation, providing institutional-grade Web3 tools for builders and startups. This setup encourages the creation of innovative use cases and serves as a hub for some of the brightest minds in Web3.

“We are witnessing a major technical revolution, driven by advancements in emerging technologies, which is reshaping industries on a global scale,” said Sheraz Ahmed, Managing Partner of Storm Partners, during the announcement at Decentral House’s Web3 Corporate Innovation Day in Geneva.

Key Support and Contributions

Early contributors to the sandbox include Circle, the issuer of the world’s second-largest stablecoin, USD Coin (USDC), cybersecurity firm Hacken, and blockchain infrastructure provider MultiversX. These contributors have invested significant resources into the sandbox, with contributions valued in the mid-six figures.

Focus on Four Key Areas

The Web3 innovation sandbox will initially focus on three primary areas: impact, consumer, and finance. A fourth area, life sciences, will be added in the coming months. These focus areas were chosen based on the needs of both traditional and Web3 companies in the region.

Geneva’s Strategic Advantage

Geneva’s strategic location and the presence of many tech-focused organizations make it an ideal place for blockchain innovation. Sheraz Ahmed highlighted, “Local organizations that strive for global impact, such as the World Economic Forum, the United Nations, and many private banks, make Geneva the perfect location to steer and amplify the growth of blockchain worldwide.”

Chris Fabian, Co-Lead of Giga, shared this view: “Giga is very pleased to see more corporate interest in innovation and blockchain in Geneva. We believe that the blockchain ecosystem can help propel Geneva to new heights in finance, international relations, and technology.”

A Bright Future for Blockchain in Geneva

As Geneva continues to attract blockchain talent and investment, the city is poised to become a leading center for both financial and technological development. The launch of the Lightningbox sandbox is a significant step towards achieving this vision, offering a collaborative environment where groundbreaking blockchain innovations can thrive.
