Crypto.com Reports Growth in User Base Thanks to High-Profile Formula 1 and UFC Partnerships

Date:

Crypto.com has dramatically impacted the sports world, partnering with Formula 1 (F1) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) through significant sponsorship deals. These partnerships have played a vital role in the cryptocurrency exchange’s growth.

In an interview for one of the industry portals on February 9, Crypto.com’s president and COO, Eric Anziani, shared insights into the company’s successful advertising efforts with F1 and UFC, including the naming rights deal for the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles:
“We’ve been lucky to partner with great organizations like F1, the UFC, and the Crypto.com Arena with AEG in LA,” Anziani mentioned that surveys have shown Crypto.com is highly recognized globally among retail cryptocurrency users, a notable achievement for a brand built in just a few years.

Reaching Millions of Fans

The 2023 Formula 1 season attracted an average of 1.11 million viewers per race in the United States, with global viewership exceeding one billion people annually. Similarly, the UFC has drawn large audiences worldwide, with significant fights like Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor selling 2.4 million pay-per-view tickets.

Crypto.com’s visibility in these sports, particularly with its logo featured in UFC octagons, has significantly contributed to bringing new users to the cryptocurrency space, according to Anziani. The company’s user base has grown from an estimated 80 million in 2023 to nearly 100 million in 2024.

Special Services for High-Volume Traders

Crypto.com is expanding its offerings to cater to high-volume, high-net-worth traders through Crypto.com Prime, an invite-only service launched in February 2024. This program requires a $1 million deposit for membership. It offers low fees, deep liquidity, institutional-grade custody, account protection, and personal account managers for wealth and estate planning.

Anziani highlighted the importance of platform security, convenience, and competitive fees as critical factors influencing users’ choice of exchange, emphasizing compliance and security as foundational in the wake of industry setbacks.

Crypto.com’s strategic moves in sports marketing reflect a broader trend among cryptocurrency exchanges leveraging global audiences to expand their reach. Other exchanges, like OKX and Stake, have also secured sponsorship deals with major sports teams and events to connect with a worldwide audience.
