Tom Brady NFT Fetches $40,000 Before Super Bowl, With Promotions by Joe Montana, John Elway

Date:

Dapper Labs’ NFL All Day, a brand focusing on digital sports collectibles, gained some attention going into the Super Bowl weekend.

This web3 company, known for its sports-themed digital collectibles, released special NFT packs during the NFL playoffs in January. This move led to significant sales, including a Tom Brady NFT that sold for over $40,000 and an Aaron Rodgers NFT that went for $34,000, as reported by Dapper Labs.

Although NFL All Day hasn’t reached the same level of success as Dapper Labs’ NBA Top Shot collection, which saw sales in the hundreds of millions in late 2021, it still achieved nearly $10 million in total sales since the NFL season started in September, based on CryptoSlam! Data.

With the Super Bowl being a significant event in American sports, Dapper Labs is leveraging the excitement by promoting NFTs featuring critical moments from legendary quarterbacks Joe Montana and John Elway, who have both won Super Bowls. These two Hall of Famers have even helped promote the NFTs through NFL All Day’s X account.

The Super Bowl, featuring the San Francisco 49ers against the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas, is a significant marketing opportunity in the U.S., attracting widespread attention every year.

It’s interesting to note that in their promotions, Dapper Labs, along with Montana and Elway, avoids using the term “NFT,” possibly due to the negative perception some have of it following the crypto market downturn. The involvement of these sports legends in promoting digital collectibles created on the Flow blockchain marks a notable achievement for the web3 sector.

The involvement of sports figures and teams with cryptocurrency companies has been controversial, especially after the crypto market’s decline and the fall of FTX, which had previously paid sports celebrities for endorsements before it collapsed, leaving many users unable to access their funds.

Dapper Labs launched NFL All Day in 2022 with the National Football League and the NFL Players Association.
